Since 1995
In business since 1995 — more than thirty years painting and restoring homes across Kent and the greater Seattle area.
What we do
Painting, restoration, and the work around them
A full-service painting and restoration contractor for homes and commercial spaces across the greater Seattle area.
Interior painting
Rooms prepped, protected and cut in with care — furniture and fittings moved, drop cloths and tape down, dents and nail holes patched and sanded, and clean colour cut around every window, door and ceiling.
Exterior painting
Surfaces washed free of dirt, algae and grime, then scraped, sanded, caulked and painted with current products — finished with a clean-up and a final inspection to protect the house and its curb appeal.
Deck building & repair
New decks and porches built, and tired ones repaired, using high-quality pressure-treated lumber.
Kitchen & bath remodels
Tile, wall colour and texture updates that bring a dated kitchen or bathroom back to life.
Siding
Vinyl, wood or composite siding chosen and installed to improve both protection and appearance.
Window installation
Windows installed properly, for the efficiency and structural integrity of the house.
The work that sets us apart
Antique & historic home restoration
The work that sets Mac's apart: careful restoration of antique and historic homes, matching finishes and colour to the house rather than working past it. Three decades of old houses across the Seattle area, restaurants and large commercial projects among them.
Additional finishes
Faux and custom finishes, drywall texturing and repair, pressure washing, and colour consultation to carry a project through to a complete finish.
Colour is the trade
Restoration is a colour problem as much as a surface one. Matching a finish to an old house — reading what was there, mixing to it, and laying it on so the repair disappears into the original — is the part of the work that takes thirty years to learn.
Every job starts with a colour consultation: we look at the light the room actually gets, the finishes already in the house, and what you want it to feel like when it is done. The colour above is one we mix on site. Yours will be its own.
About
Thirty years of old houses in Kent
I started Mac's Painting & Restoration in Kent in 1995, and I have spent the thirty years since painting and restoring homes across the greater Seattle area — along with restaurants and a fair share of large commercial work.
It is a full-service painting and restoration business, and it is still mine: you are talking to the person whose name is on it. I would rather let the work speak than talk it up, and I have built the business on getting it right and leaving every customer satisfied, not on marketing.
If you have an old house that needs careful hands, or a room that needs a fresh colour, call me. You will get a straight answer and a free quote.

Reviews
In their own words
I have heard horror stories about other painters and have seen their inferior results. When family and friends need a reliable painter, I have only one recommendation: Use Mac's Painting & Restoration for a top quality job.
The crew was neat and clean when working on my home. They did an excellent job painting and repairing the walls and trim. They arrived on time and worked late to complete the work as agreed. Overall, this was an excellent job and experience.
Homeowner Highly professional! Neat and efficient, Mac's Painting & Restoration uses high quality materials and does very good work. I would not hesitate to use them again.
